Candidate Requirements

AGE

Age between 18 and 29.5 years.

AGRICULTURAL PROGRAM

Must be enrolled in an agricultural program or a related field.

Basic proficiency in English or German with a required certification (e.g., KET-A2, IELTS 3.0, or Goethe A2).

Accommodation

The employer provides a private room in the house with all the apartment's amenities and internet for the fee – 150-350 euros per month.

SALARY

FOR STUDENTS UP TO 25 YEARS OLD

from 1 to 6 months – 1,600 euros per month
(1,350 euros after taxes)

from 7 to 18 months – 1,900 euros per month
(1,500 euros after taxes)

FOR STUDENTS OVER 25 YEARS OLD

from 1 to 6 months — 1,600 euros per month
(1,350 euros after taxes)

from 7 to 18 months — 2,200 euros per month

Internship Responsibilities at a Pig Farm

FARROWING UNIT

Operate automatic feeding systems for sows; perform regular inspections and sow fertilization; care for piglets up to 6 kg, including castration and vaccination procedures.

REARING UNIT

Manage automated feeding systems; carry out routine inspections and administer vaccinations; maintain cleanliness in the facilities.

FATTENING UNIT

Oversee automatic feeding; conduct daily inspections and vaccination tasks; ensure the premises are properly cleaned.

Internship Responsibilities on a Dairy Farm

FEEDING & MILK

Operate automatic feeding systems for cattle; perform milking routines 2–3 times daily.

CALF CARE

Provide comprehensive care for calves, ensuring proper nutrition and hygiene.

FIELD ASSISTANCE

Assist with occasional field work during harvesting or maintenance tasks.

NURSERY UNIT

Operate automatic feeding systems for chickens; ensure proper feeding schedules and monitor water supply.

CULTIVATION UNIT

Clean cages and maintain poultry premises; 
ensure hygiene and sanitary standards are met.

HARVESTING UNIT

Sort and pack eggs; handle quality checks and prepare them for distribution.

FEEDING UNIT

Operate automatic feeding systems for chickens; ensure proper feeding schedules and monitor water supply.

CLEANING UNIT

Clean cages and maintain poultry premises;

Sort and pack eggs; handle quality checks and prepare them for distribution.

Useful information about the KET exam

To start an internship in Denmark, you need to have a certificate in English (one of KET / IELTS / TOFEL) with a level 
no lower than Pre-Intermediate (A2 by international scale). It is easier and cheaper to pass KET (Key English Test).
